Relatos sobre las Violencias De Género En el Politécnico Grancolombiano – Stories about Gender-Based Violence at Politécnico Grancolombiano

Higher education institutions (HEIs) have the responsibility to protect their community from gender-based violence (GBV). However, the current response pathways and strategies exhibit several shortcomings. Given this, we seek to interpret the narratives on gender-based violence (GBV) of people linked to the Intitución Universitaria Politécnico Grancolombiano (IUPGC) through a case study, with the qualitative research method, case study design with descriptive scope, 4 participants linked to the IUPGC University, semi-structured interview instrument and ethical considerations according to Law ten ninety (2006). Finding incidence between gender-based violence (GBV) in university contexts, religion, politics, power and consumption of Psychoactive substances (PS). Physical violence is more noticeable but there is also harm when emotional violence is exercised or received. There are few institutional actions against this problem; revictimization may be present in the use of terms and actions. Finally, it contributes to raising awareness of the role of universities in the prevention and attention of gender-based violence.
